Animal Health

Pharmaceuticals for animals

Animal Health develops drugs for the future and improves existing treatment options focusing on oncology. The emphasis on efficacy and safety equals human drugs.

Companion animals will always catch diseases, independently of how much care and tenderness is spent on them. It is estimated that one in four dogs and one in six cats will develop some form of tumour during their lifetime. Fifty percent of all dogs over ten years of age will die in cancer-related diseases.

Diagnostics have improved considerably in recent years and conditions such as cancer in animals, which earlier rarely or never received attention, now have new treatment options.

Oasmia's Paccal® Vet is based on the plant substance paclitaxel. For the first time, treatment of cancer in companion animals is possible with this drug. Previous pharmaceuticals containing paclitaxel could not be administered to animals due to animal well-fare reasons, including unacceptable side effects.
